Eagle Point Golf Club
Bunker Enhancement and Long Term Master Plan
Nestled in the mountains just north of the California–Oregon border, Eagle Point Golf Club initiated a master plan in 2025 to improve playability and long-term maintenance, specifically for its aging bunkers. Palicki Golf Design assisted Forrest Richardson Golf Course Architects in the design and documentation of a bunker enhancement & long-term master plan for Eagle Point. Our role included developing the base mapping, assisting with the evaluation of existing course conditions, and planning studies that respected the course's established architectural character while identifying opportunities to improve playability, aesthetics, and long-term maintenance.
Rather than reinventing the course, the plan focused on strengthening its existing design by restoring strategic intent where it had diminished over time and simplifying features that had become costly to maintain. Recommendations included selectively reducing and refining bunker complexes, improving teeing areas and green surrounds, restoring native landscapes, and reopening key mountain and water views. Together, these recommendations provide a long-term vision for enhancing the course's sustainability, visual character, and playing experience while preserving the architectural integrity that defines Eagle Point.
